Giving feedback is one of the crucial parts of self-development whether it is related to work or personal matter. It involves expressing appreciation as well as concern for people at the receiving end.

Receiving feedback, on the other hand, shows openness and willingness to get better at a subject and constructs improvement without being defensive.

Some characteristics of good feedback:

  • Don’t bring out the past.
  • Give specific references, not vague ones.
  • Best to present the feedback face-to-face.
  • Give suggestions of improvement for the betterment of the recipient.
  • After presenting your feedback, hear out perspective from the recipient.
